Students, staff and faculty members from Penn State's College of Education share recent research and career achievements.
- Erica Frankenberg, professor of education and demography, is lead author of a new article, “Eroding Integration: 21st Century Segregation Trends in U.S. Public and Charter Schools and Implications for the Enduring Promise of Brown” in Urban Education.
- Mariah Harmon, assistant professor of education, is lead author of an article, “Uplifting Our Voices: Centering Black Women Pre-Service Teachers in Teacher Education Research,” recently published in International Journal of Qualitative Methods.
- A book published in 2022 by Dana Mitra, professor of educational theory and policy, was reviewed in this essay titled “The Empowered Professor: Breaking the Unspoken Codes of Inequity in Academia.” Mitra’s book, titled “The Empowered Professor: Breaking the Unspoken Codes of Inequity in Academia, is a 10-chapter book aimed at helping faculty and aspiring faculty to build success, particularly those whose identities do not mirror the predominantly white, male, heterosexual, cisgender and able-bodied majority of academia.
