Erica Frankenberg, professor of education and demography, is included in Education Week blogger Frederick M. Hess' 2025 Edu-Scholar Public Influence Rankings. This annual exercise spotlights the top 200 education scholars in U.S. universities.

Krishawna Goins, a student in the online doctorate of education (D.Ed.) program through Penn State World Campus, will be presenting at the 2025 National Education Association National Leadership Summit, to be held March 7-9 at the Huntingdon Place Convention Center in Detroit. The title of Goins’ presentation is “Ignite Your Impact: Early Career Educators as Changemakers!” Goins, a two-time alumna of the College of Education, is a first-grade teacher at Goshen Post Elementary School in Aldie, Virginia.

Wilson Okello, assistant professor of education (higher education) and research associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education, and Tiffany Nyachae, assistant professor of education and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, are co-editors for a recently released special issue in the International Journal of Qualitative Methods : "'(No) Humans Involved': On the Potentialities of Black Research Approaches in Education."

Carmen Vanderhoof, assistant teaching professor of education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is among 51 teaching and clinical non-tenure-line faculty who have been awarded first grants by the new Opportunity Grant Professional Development Program. She was awarded for her project, “Exploring Climate Justice from Local to Global Contexts.”
