"College of Education Alumni Updates" highlights career achievements by College of Education alumni.

  • Michael Cattell Jr., a December 2025 graduate of the Education and Public Policy program and the Schreyer Honors College, co-authored a research brief, “Who Takes Calculus Courses? An Analysis of CRDC Data From 2011-2021: Calculus, Opportunity, and Equity” that was recently published in Advanced Equity. His co-author was Erica Frankenberg, professor of education and demography.
  • Luis Almeida, who received a doctorate in instructional systems from the College of Education in 2008, earned the HBCU Outstanding Educator of the Year Award and a Communicator of the Year nomination in 2023, as well as two Telly Awards. He has also achieved tenure and now serves as director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Midlands Technical College, supporting faculty across five campuses.
  • Spring 2023 alumna Emma Wolfe, a double major in secondary education (social studies and history) with minors in special education and Jewish studies, was recently selected to present at the National Council for the Social Studies Conference in Washington, D.C. Now a middle school teacher at Robert C. Parker School near Albany, New York, Wolfe is being recognized for her creative, student-centered approach to teaching history and democratic principles.
