"College of Education Alumni Updates" highlights career achievements by Penn State College of Education alumni.
- Melissa Frank-Alston, who earned her doctorate in workforce education and development from Penn State, has been named president of Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw, South Carolina. She assumed the presidency on July 1. Frank-Alston was also the 2018 recipient of the College of Education Alumni Society Award for Leadership and Service, recognizing her professional accomplishments and commitment to service.
- Saiber Shaikh, a recent doctoral alumna of Penn State, has joined Eastern Michigan University as an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership and Counseling within its College of Education. Shaikh earned her doctorate in counselor education/school counseling and guidance services. In addition to working in counselor education, Shaikh will contribute to the university’s Student Mental Health and Wellness Research Collaborative, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on collegiate mental health, belonging and community well-being.
