DUBOIS, Pa. — Two Penn State DuBois faculty members have been recognized for their innovative teaching efforts with the inaugural Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) New Faculty Recognition Award. Leanne Nedza, lecturer in criminal justice, and Scott Muirhead, lecturer in business administration, were both selected for the honor in recognition of their commitment to enhancing student learning through the effective use of technology.
Presented by Penn State’s Teaching and Learning with Technology unit, the award celebrates new faculty who demonstrate an exceptional dedication to improving their teaching practices through digital tools and strategies. Nedza and Muirhead earned the recognition by actively engaging with TLT in six or more unique opportunities, including consultations, events and programs designed to support innovation in the classroom.
"Leanne and Scott exemplify the forward-thinking, student-centered approach to education that Penn State values,” said Jungwoo Ryoo, chancellor and chief academic officer at Penn State DuBois. “Their initiative in adopting new technologies and pedagogical methods not only enriches the classroom experience but also strengthens our campus culture of continuous improvement.”

Teaching and Learning with Technology is a unit within University Libraries. TLT supports the University’s mission by collaborating with faculty to explore and implement transformative uses of technology that enhance teaching and learning outcomes across Penn State’s campuses.
