UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State is seeking volunteers to join in planning the 15th annual Penn State Military Appreciation Week, which will be held later this year.

The Military Appreciation Committee coordinates year-round initiatives in addition to the annual Military Appreciation Week, which honors active and veteran service members and military families.

Two subcommittees focusing on events and finance are seeking new members:

  • The Military Appreciation Events Committee focuses on planning events and activities throughout the year including Penn State’s Military Appreciation Week, one of the largest celebrations of its kind in the Big 10 Conference. Interested volunteers should contact Sherry Pinamonti (sap25@psu.edu) for more information.
  • The Military Appreciation Finance and Development Committee supports programming through fundraising and sponsorship development. This committee helps secure the resources necessary to continue programming. Interested volunteers should contact Mark Rudloff (mer12@psu.edu) for more information.

Penn State Military Appreciation is a 100% volunteer-based community effort. Volunteers are crucial to planning and executing events, connecting with the military community, building partnerships with sponsors, and continuing the tradition of supporting Military Appreciation initiatives at Penn State.

Committee members meet throughout the year, usually once a month. Those who are interested in learning more about other volunteer opportunities can reach out to milappreciation@psu.edu or visit the Penn State Military Appreciation website.
