Events throughout the month of April celebrate the LGBTQA community

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The LGBTQA Student Resource Center, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, will celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQ community during Pride Month at Penn State in April.

Penn State’s annual Pride Week has been extended this year to include events, speakers and workshops during the entire month of April.

Upcoming events include:

  • Speaker and writer Jon Paul Higgins will examine issues of queer and trans people of color at 6 p.m. on April 10 in 233AB HUB Robeson Center.
  • A Pride March and Rally will be held on April 11, to begin at noon from the steps of Boucke Building.
  • The month will conclude with the Cirque de SoGay Drag Show at 8 p.m. on April 26 in Heritage Hall, HUB Robeson Center.

In addition to the LGBTQA Student Resource Center, sponsors for Pride Month events include the Paul Robeson Cultural Center, Center for Women Students, University Libraries, Stand for State, and University Park Allocation Committee, Commission on LGBTQ Equity, and more.
