Celebrating Winter's Glow at the Arboretum at Penn State

Festive displays, craft classes and more brought visitors to the winter wonderland Dec. 13

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Visitors gathered to enjoy seasonal decor, crafts and much more during the Winter's Glow event at the Arboretum at Penn State Dec. 13.

Lights and landscape decor will stay on for visitors to enjoy evening strolls until 9:30 p.m. and pre-dawn walks from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. in the gardens through Jan. 18, 2026. Credit: Liz Fuhrmann / Penn State. Creative Commons

The theme for Winter’s Glow and winter displays focus on showcasing plants in the collection that provide seasonal interest throughout the winter months. Locally-grown trees are incorporated into the environment. Credit: Liz Fuhrmann / Penn State. Creative Commons

Indoor and outdoor activities at the event included a “Handmade Holidays” crafting workshop, two wreath-making workshops, a pop-up print shop featuring cards crafted in the gardens by nature-sketching students, and more. Credit: Liz Fuhrmann / Penn State. Creative Commons
