MEDIA, Pa. — Meena Aaditya joined Penn State Brandywine in December as a part-time administrative support assistant for advising and career services. Previously with Delaware County Libraries, Aaditya said she is eager to support both her department and students in any way she can.
“Helping people, especially students, is my passion,” Aaditya said. “I work with an incredible team, and I want to contribute however possible while also making a positive impact on students.”
Aaditya brings nearly a decade of experience in academia, having begun her career in a preschool setting before serving as a registrar and administrative assistant at various grade schools in Carmel, Indiana and Chicago suburbs. After relocating from Illinois to Pennsylvania for her husband’s job, she was drawn to Penn State Brandywine because of the University’s core values, she said.
“Diversity and inclusion are values that are very important to me, and Penn State truly embraces them,” she said. “Once I realized my values aligned so closely with the institution’s, the decision felt natural.”
In her new role, Aaditya said she hopes to become familiar with the campus and gain a deeper understanding of how Penn State operates as a large institution.
“Having worked across different levels of education — from preschool to middle school and now higher education — I’m excited to learn how a well renowned university like Penn State functions,” she said. “I want to see everything that goes into keeping such a large institution running.”
Outside of work, Aaditya enjoys reading, cooking, hiking and watching suspenseful movies and television shows. New to the area, she said she and her husband are on the hunt for the best pastry shop in the region.
