His decision to remain at Brandywine was a combination of both strategy and convenience. Living just 40 minutes from campus, Ross was able to enjoy both independence and the comfort of being close to home. Interestingly, project and supply chain management was not always part of Ross’ academic plan; in fact, it was not even on his radar.
“I was pretty unfamiliar with the field altogether,” Ross said. “Having conversations with my adviser opened my eyes to the possibility of pursuing two concurrent degrees in project and supply chain management and business, and I decided to take that path.”
Throughout his time at Brandywine, Ross has found inspiration both inside and outside of the classroom.
“Overall, I have been fortunate to learn from a wide range of professors who have shaped my academic journey in meaningful ways,” said Ross.
From foundational courses in management and marketing to more advanced topics like finance and project management, many professors have helped shape Ross’ academic readiness.
“Kalpani Dissanayake (assistant professor of business and economics) has played a special role in my experience,” said Ross. “Not only did I take her project management course, but she is also my academic adviser and the adviser of the Project and Supply Chain Management Club, offering invaluable guidance for both my academic and professional growth.”
Ross currently serves as the president of the Project and Supply Chain Management Club, where he works to help organize events and connect students with industry professionals.
He also holds the title of vice president for the MarComm Club. There, he collaborates on strengthening marketing and communication efforts aimed toward campus engagement. One of his most memorable moments was helping to organize the club’s cup pong tournament, a lively event that emphasized bringing students together in a fun and inclusive way.
“Being involved in planning, coordinating and executing the tournament gave me a sense of teamwork, leadership and creative expression that meant a lot to me,” said Ross.
His dedication to supporting students does not end with his club involvement; he is also a peer writing tutor in the Student Academic Success Center. Ross has held this position since his second year, where he has aided students in strengthening their writing skills and navigating the demands of college communication.
“These experiences have allowed me to develop leadership, communication and mentoring skills while making meaningful contributions to the Penn State Brandywine community,” said Ross.
Ross also has made time to secure real-world experience that ties into his anticipated future career. After completing an internship at Fox Rothschild LLC, a national law firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Ross felt that Brandywine had helped set him up for success.
“This experience reinforced the importance of organization, communication and efficiency in managing resources and operations,” Ross said.
As Ross enters his final year at Penn State Brandywine, he is already looking ahead. He plans to pursue his master’s degree in business administration after graduation to further expand his skill set and professional opportunities while interning with a business-focused company. One day, Ross hopes to work in the field of sports management or become a business owner.
“The skills I have developed at Brandywine will allow me to make an impact no matter the path I choose,” Ross said.
For Ross, the journey through project and supply chain management and business is just the beginning. Thanks to his time at Brandywine, he is stepping into his future with direction, discipline and purpose, while offering students advice on the best way to use their college experience.
“Seize every opportunity, but also remember to pace yourself and appreciate the journey,” he said.
