Penn State Berks to host Workplace Writing Symposium on March 27

WYOMISSING, Pa. — Local professionals will discuss their experiences with students at Penn State Berks Workplace Writing Symposium from 12:15 to 1:15 on Friday, March 27, in the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building, room 121. This event is open to all Penn State Berks students, and pizza will be served.

This symposium will bring together local professionals in business, engineering, science and other fields for a question-and-answer session with students. The goal is to give students an opportunity to find out more about the writing they will do in their future careers, and to hear firsthand how emerging communication technologies are impacting the workplace.

Panelists include:

  • Marissa Catteau, project management specialist, Biologics Testing Solutions, Charles River Laboratories; Penn State Berks alumna
  • Justin Chen, technical writer, Penske Truck Leasing; Penn State Berks alumnus
  • James Collier, partner, Teacher Benefit Strategies LLC; Penn State, Millersville University and University of Pennsylvania alumnus
  • Jill Dyer, senior training consultant, InterContinental Hotels Group; Penn State Berks alumna
  • Lisa Peterson, consultant in continuous improvement, LCA/LCC and environmental footprint and owner of Aftan Engineering; Drexel University and Lehigh University alumna
  • Stan Prince, director of biosafety and business development, Minaris Advanced Therapies and Penn State and Alvernia University alumnus
  • Isiah Speaks, real estate agent, Coldwell Banker Realty and business development – property management, Trademark Real Estate Services
