WYOMISSING, Pa. — Penn State Berks is holding its second annual Athletics Day of Giving on Tuesday, Oct. 14, providing alumni, fans and supporters an opportunity to directly impact the future of its student-athletes. This year’s goal is to raise $30,000 from 250 donors in support of the college’s athletics programs.

The fundraising initiative will allow donors to contribute to any of the college's 14 varsity sports programs or to the general athletics fund, which supports all student-athletes. Every gift, regardless of size, will help enhance the overall experience for more than 190 student-athletes who compete for the Nittany Lions.

"Our student-athletes work tirelessly in the classroom and in competition, and the Day of Giving will help us provide the resources they need to succeed,” said Director of Athletics Barry Beal. “Since our last Day of Giving, there has been plenty to celebrate. Men's cross-country captured its first conference championship in program history, and men's soccer earned its first postseason victory in more than 20 years.”

Beal explained that Penn State Berks Athletics has continued to invest in facilities and in the student-athlete experience. This summer, a new Daktronics video board was installed in the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center. The college’s varsity offerings have expanded with the addition of men's and women's indoor track and field, competing for the first time in the winter of 2026-27.

“Those accomplishments not only reflect the momentum building throughout Berks athletics but also reinforce the importance of continued support,” Beal said. “As our programs grow, so does our responsibility to provide our nearly 200 student-athletes with the resources and experiences they deserve.”

Thanks to the generosity of a Penn State Berks athletics supporter, the Athletics Day of Giving will kick off with an anonymous $10,000 gift to the Athletics General Fund. Donations will be accepted from now until Oct. 14, with the entirety of each gift going toward the programs donors would like to support. Learn more or make a gift a today.
