WYOMISSING, Pa. — A new class of more than 250 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the Santander Arena in downtown Reading, when Berks hosts its spring 2026 commencement ceremony. Suniti Moudgil, chief technology officer at Carpenter and member of the Penn State Berks Advisory Board, will deliver the keynote address.
Moudgil is an accomplished technology executive with more than two decades of experience advancing innovation and growth across the specialty materials and chemicals industries. Her work connects technology strategy to business priorities, translating research into differentiated products and long-term value.
As chief technology officer of Carpenter Technology Corporation, Moudgil leads the research and development unit of the organization and shapes the technology portfolio to be aligned to business priorities and customer needs. She sponsors the intellectual property pipeline and serves on the executive team responsible for the company’s strategic direction.
Committed to education and community, Moudgil serves on the Penn State Berks advisory board and its development committee, supporting the campus’s mission and impact within the broader Penn State University system.
Before joining Carpenter Technology in December 2021, Moudgil spent nearly 18 years at the DuPont Company in technical and commercial leadership roles. As global technology leader for DuPont’s electronics and industrial business unit, she set technology strategy and led research and development for multiple product lines. She previously held positions at DuPont in research and development, strategy, marketing, and operations.
Across her career, her work has focused on fostering strong, collaborative teams, clarifying where innovation can create the most impact, and connecting long-range research to near-term execution through cross-functional partnership.
Moudgil earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida and a doctorate in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a minor in health sciences and technology.
A champion of continuous learning, she earned an executive education certification in AI implications for business Strategy from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a certification in leading innovative change from the Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley. She also holds Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
