Three Penn State entrants earn first-place finishes at Mid-Atlantic Emmys

PHILADELPHIA — Three Penn State student productions or individuals earned first-place finishes in competition for 2025 College Student Production awards, presented as part of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Award winners were announced Saturday during the 43rd Annual NATAS Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards Ceremony at the Marriott Downtown Philadelphia.

College Student Production-Arts/Entertainment/Cultural Affairs

“Centre County Report,” a weekly newscast produced by students in the capstone broadcast journalism course in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, was the source for the nominated work.

The weekly program streams live on YouTube and airs across Pennsylvania on WPSU-TV (PBS) to 29 counties and 500,000 television homes. It also streams throughout Pennsylvania as part of partnerships with WTAJ-TV (Altoona), KDKA-TV (Pittsburgh), KYW-TV (Philadelphia) and WNEP-TV (Scranton/Wilkes-Barre). Newscasts stream in the Baltimore in partnership with WJZ-TV as well.
