UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A special newscast produced by Penn State students as the result of an international reporting trip will air twice on WPSU-TV in August.

“Centre County Report in Kazakhstan” will air at noon Aug. 2 and at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 28.

The newscast was created by students in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications as a result of their trip to Kazakhstan in March. The team that made the trip was based in Almaty, the country's largest city.

Segments of the newscast focus on the country's geopolitical issues, the indigenous sport of kokpar, a community of Uyghurs (refugees from China) and the importance of nearby glaciers to the water supply.

Along with the showings on WPSU, the episode is available online now at the Penn State Student Media website.
