UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication will host a free webinar at noon on Oct. 8 examining how emotional intelligence, mindfulness and listening can strengthen employee engagement and help organizations build more connected workplace cultures. The virtual discussion will bring together communication scholars and industry professionals to explore practical, evidence-based strategies that leaders can use to build stronger relationships with employees and support workplace well-being. Register for the webinar.
The panelists will highlight insights from a collaborative research project, featuring case studies and a national survey of more than 1,000 U.S. employees. Participants will learn how organizations can develop stronger listening practices, model emotionally intelligent leadership, and translate research findings into effective workplace communication strategies. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session with the online audience.
Panelists are Zifei Fay Chen, associate professor at the University of Georgia; Katie Place, professor at Quinnipiac University; Ann Barlow, founder, executive adviser and fractional communications leader at The Abba Group, a strategic communications consultancy; and John McCartney, founder and CEO of the public relations agency JMAC PR. The panel will be moderated by Charlene Wheeless, a member of the Page Center advisory board and a former senior executive of several major corporations.
