UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Two video projects produced by Penn State students for University partners earned five awards — including a prestigious Gold Telly Award — in an international competition that honors video and television across all screens.

CommAgency, the student-driven creative agency housed in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, earned the awards in three different categories for projects completed with the Department of Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies and the Penn State Alumni Association, respectively.

The video for Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies earned a Gold Telly in the Non-Broadcast - Educational Institution category, a Silver Telly in the Non-Broadcast - Student category, and a Bronze Telly in the Non-Broadcast - DEI: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category.

CommAgency regularly partners with units across the University for video projects that meet the needs of those units and provide hands-on experience. The videos have been award winners in international competitions with regularity as well.

The video for the Penn State Alumni Association earned two Silver Telly Awards — one in the Non-Broadcast - Educational Institution category and one in the Non-Broadcast - Student category.

The 47th annual Telly Awards received more than 13,000 submissions from all 50 states and five continents this year. The awards, which are judged by leaders from video platforms, television, streaming networks and production companies, were established in 1979.
