The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team defeated St. John Fisher, 1-0, in non-conference action on Sept. 6. Midfielder Marlene Andrade, a junior from Walnut Creek, California, scored on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

The Lions host Allegheny on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Behrend’s volleyball, tennis and water polo teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

 

Men’s soccer

  • Case Western Reserve 1, Penn State Behrend 0

Case Western outshot the Lions, 11-4. Goalkeeper Anthony Scalise, a sophomore from North Huntington, made seven saves.

 

Women’s volleyball

  • Penn State Behrend 3, Fredonia 0
  • Thiel 3, Penn State Behrend 0
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Geneva 0
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Bluffton 0

Cadence Jones, a sophomore from North East, had 18 kills on 40 attempts against Fredonia. She had 20 kills and 15 digs against Bluffton.

 

Women’s tennis

  • Penn State Behrend 6, Carlow 1
  • Penn State Behrend 6, Pitt-Greensburg 1

Tamanna Sharma, a senior from Brampton, Canada, and Enisa Siljkovic, a sophomore from Erie, won at No. 1 doubles against Carlow, finishing 6-2. Siljkovic also won at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1.

 

Men’s water polo

  • Gannon 24, Penn State Behrend 19
  • Salem 25, Penn State Behrend 15
  • Penn State Behrend 13, Mercyhurst 12
  • Johns Hopkins 21, Penn State Behrend 8

Caden Currykosky, a freshman from Wexford, scored five goals against Gannon. Goalie Ethan Friedman, a senior from Valley Center, California, made 29 saves. Nick Thompson, a sophomore from Hudsonville, Michigan, scored five goals against Mercyhurst.
