The Penn State Behrend women’s basketball team won its fifth consecutive game Jan. 20 with a 98-47 defeat of Carlow. The Lions are now 11-5 and are 7-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action.
Rachel Majewski, a senior from Erie, scored 23 points. Morgan Altavilla, a junior from Pittsburgh, added 21 points, four assists and three steals.
The team hosts Alfred State on Wednesday.
Behrend’s swimming and diving, volleyball and bowling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:

Tommy DiRienzo, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored a game-high 27 points. He also grabbed 8 rebounds. Matthew McDonough, a junior from Pittsburgh, scored 23 points.
Men’s swimming and diving
- Grove City 193, Penn State Behrend 95
Anthony Tumino, a junior from Hershey, won the 50-meter freestyle, finishing in 21.93. Jacob Earley, a junior from Erie, won the diving events, scoring 154.65 in the 1-meter event and 170.35 in the 3-meter competition.
Women’s swimming and diving
- Grove City 174, Penn State Behrend 106
Nora Blasch, a sophomore from Springfield, Virginia, won the diving events, scoring 165.70 points in the 1-meter event and 160.25 in the 3-meter competition. Logan Wilson, a freshman from Hermitage, won the 1,000-meter freestyle, finishing in 11:18.33.

Kyle Hoffman, a junior from Carlton, had eight kills, eight digs, two assists and one ace against Buffalo State. Caden Mealy, a junior from Meadville, had 21 assists.

Lillie Holt, a junior from Pulaski, placed fifth in a field of 30 bowlers at the Division III National Invite in Lansing, Michigan. She averaged a score of 190.80 over eight matches.
