ERIE, Pa. — Study breaks are good for mind, body and soul. The second-annual Wellness Fest at Penn State Behrend will approach that from several different directions — including puppy yoga, sound meditation and a cat café.

The Women’s Engagement Council at Behrend is coordinating the event, which is free and open to all students and community members. The program, which will be held Monday, Sept. 22, in McGarvey Commons from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., will include more than 30 interactive stations, including:

  • Puppy yoga
  • Therapy bunnies
  • Hands-on crafts with Greener Behrend and the Penn State Master Gardeners
  • Haunted history trivia
  • Financial fitness games
  • A cat café

Movement-based activities will include a drum circle and a guided tai chi session.

“Wellness isn’t just about diet or exercise,” said Anne Eisert, a WEC board member and chair of the event. “It’s about balance — your relationships, your finances, your environment, even your sense of purpose. We want Wellness Fest to help participants explore all eight dimensions of wellness in a fun, low-stress way.”

Several college and community partners will host activities, including the American Heart Association, the Erie County Conservation District, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Career Center at Penn State Behrend.
