Two Penn State Behrend runners set program records at the Kent State Doug Raymond Invitational on Feb. 7:
Carter Tobin, a sophomore from Irwin, broke his own program record in the 200-meter run, finishing in 21.85. He placed eighth. He placed sixth in the 60-meter sprint, finishing in 6.86.
Jake Egizio, a junior from Canonsburg, set a record in the 400-meter race. He finished in 49.60, placing fifth.
In the women’s events, Lindsay Hartle, a senior from Pittsburgh, placed seventh in the 3,000-meter race. She finished in 10:48.93 – a career-best time.
Behrend’s basketball, volleyball and wrestling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s basketball
- Penn State Behrend 81, Hilbert 49
Mason Blankenberg, a senior from Ontario, New York, and Matthew McDonough, a senior from Pittsburgh, each scored 16 points against Hilbert.
Women’s basketball
- Penn State Behrend 90, Hilbert 34
Julia Balaski, a senior from Mercer, scored 17 points against Hilbert. Morgan Altavilla, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 16 points.
Men’s volleyball
- Thiel 3, Penn State Behrend 2
Daniel Easly, a senior from Erie, had 13 kills and seven digs against Thiel, which was ranked No. 20. Luke Mumpower, a senior from North Huntingdon, had a season-best 42 assists and 14 digs.
Wrestling
- Gannon (Division II) 33, Penn State Behrend 15
Zach Dellinger, a senior from Buffalo, New York, won by pin in 57 seconds. He wrestled in the 125-pound bout. Rudy Brown, a sophomore from Burgettstown, won by pin in the 149-pound bout.
