Behrend bowling team places third at Grapevine Classic

ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend women’s bowling team finished third out of six teams at the Grapevine Classic, at Eastland Bowl in Erie. Lillie Holt, a senior from Pulaski, was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Holt bowled a 248 against St. Vincent on the first day of the two-day tournament. She bowled a 243 against Hilbert.

Men’s soccer

  • Pitt-Greensburg 1, Penn State Behrend 0
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 1

Daniel Christafano, a first-year student from Pittsburgh, scored the go-ahead goal against Hilbert — his first collegiate goal — at 52:48. Goalkeeper Anthony Scalise, a second-year student from North Huntingdon, made five saves.

 

Women’s soccer

  • Penn State Behrend 1, Pitt-Greensburg 0
  • Penn State Behrend 11, Hilbert 0

Bri Ross, a first-year student from Springdale, and Chloe Hart, a first-year student from Pittsburgh, each scored a hat trick against Hilbert. Ross also had two assists. Rori Kostos, a third-year student from Cleveland, scored twice.

 

Women’s volleyball

  • Penn State Behrend 3, Pitt-Greensburg 0
  • Penn State Behrend 3, Hilbert 0

Cadence Jones, a second-year student, from North East, scored a match-high 22 kills against Hilbert. She also had 13 digs. Brynne Smith, a second-year student from Butler, had 34 assists and seven digs.

 

Men’s swimming and diving

  • Second (of five teams) at the Cortland Pumpkin Relays

The Lions won five events, including the 400 medley relay. That team — Glenn Fowkes, Will Perham, Ryan Okey and Isaac Stoeckle — finished in 3:35.32. The 3x100 backstroke relay team — Stoeckle, Fowkes and Nevin Rutherford — also won, finishing in 2:46.56.

 

Women’s swimming and diving

  • Third (of four teams) at the Cortland Pumpkin Relays

The 400 medley relay team — Camryn Watters, Kaitlyn True, Jadyn Danylko and Kallie Smith — won, finishing in 4:11.21. The 3x100 backstroke relay team — Marin O’Lone, Isabel Sheridan and Sam Sebulak — also won, finishing in 3:15.69.

 

Men’s golf

  • Tied for 12th (of 20 teams) at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic

James Klinghorn, a first-year student from Mars, led the Lions with a two-day score of 155. He placed 25th in a field of 106 golfers. Johnny Palmieri, a second-year student from Warren, shot a 157 and placed 34th.
