Behrend basketball team builds 5-game winning streak

ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend men’s basketball team has won five consecutive games and is undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action. The Lions travel to the University of Buffalo on Dec. 22.

  • Penn State Behrend 68, Penn State Altoona 63
  • Penn State Behrend 70, Alfred State 44

Jacob Dunkle, a freshman from Washington, scored 21 points against Alfred State. Dolan Waldo, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds and made three blocks.

The women’s basketball team has won three consecutive games:

  • Penn State Behrend 70, Penn State Altoona 64
  • Penn State Behrend 59, Alfred State 57
  • Penn State Behrend 94, Carlow 38

Morgan Altavilla, a senior from Pittsburgh, scored 21 points against Alfred State. Lilly Palladino, a junior from Export, scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against Penn State Altoona.

The Behrend wrestling team also was in action last week, defeating Penn State Altoona and Division I Mercyhurst:

  • Penn State Behrend 54, Penn State Altoona 6
  • Penn State Behrend 42, Mercyhurst 9

Zach Dellinger, a senior from Buffalo, New York, won the 133-pound bout against Mercyhurst, pinning his opponent with 30 seconds remaining in the match. Matthew Caldwell, a junior from North Tonawanda, New York, won the heavyweight bout, scoring a pin at 4:59.
