MONACA, Pa. — Penn State Beaver Women’s Basketball Coach Tim Moore will be inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame this year.

Moore, a Freedom Area High School graduate, will be one of 10 athletic standouts inducted into the Hall of Fame in a June ceremony. The Hall of Fame mission statement says the organization celebrates and honors “select persons who have heroically contributed to the sports world with integrity, sportsmanship and character.”

Moore has led the Penn State Beaver Lady Lions to the Penn State University Athletic Conference championships eight times during his tenure in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2025. Under his leadership the team were United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Championships in 2015 and 2020. He was also named the USCAA women’s basketball Division II National Coach of the Year in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

“When I received the call that I was being inducted into the Beaver County Hall of Fame, I was overtaken with emotion and somewhat speechless,” Moore said. “As a high schooler walking through the halls of the Community College of Beaver County Dome and seeing the names of Tony Dorsett, Nom Van Lier, Brad Davis and so many other legends that have come out of Beaver County, I never dreamed that I had a chance of being added to this list of Beaver County greats.”

Moore said the achievement “is a testament to all my coaches growing up that have molded me into the coach I am today and to my assistant coaches that have helped make Penn State Beaver Women's Basketball such a successful program.”

“Coach Moore is more than deserving of this amazing honor," said Penn State Beaver Athletic Director Andy Kirschner said. "Not only has his program won, but he has also worked hard to prepare these young ladies for their professional careers.”

Moore said coaching college basketball wasn’t something he grew up dreaming he would get to do.

“I appreciate Andy Kirschner and Penn State Beaver for believing in me and giving me the opportunity at such a young age. Penn State Beaver has become a second family to me and my kids, and we will always be grateful and proud be part of such a great family.”

The induction ceremony will be held June 13. More information at the Hall of Fame page
