UNIVERSITY PARK — Celebrate three decades of a cherished local holiday tradition this December when the Nittany Ballet dancers, from The Performing Arts School of Central Pennsylvania, present their annual performances of “The Nutcracker.” This year's performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, in Eisenhower Auditorium on Penn State's University Park campus.

For 30 years, Nittany Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” has invited audiences to step into a world of holiday magic. Follow Clara on a remarkable Christmas Eve journey filled with battling toy soldiers, mischievous mice, dancing snowflakes and the mysterious Drosselmeyer. After the Nutcracker defeats the Mouse King, Clara travels to the enchanting Nutcracker Kingdom, where the Sugarplum Fairy and a colorful cast of characters await.

Call 814-863-0255 or visit “The Nutcracker” online for more information about the performance and to buy tickets. The Arts Ticket Center is a part of the Penn State College of Arts & Architecture.
