McKEESPORT, Pa. — Johnathan White, associate teaching professor of history at Penn State Greater Allegheny, has taken on the role of host for the “History of Being Black” podcast.
According to White, the series is built around elevating Black experiences and examining the issues that have shaped, and continue to shape, the lives of African Americans. It aims to connect past and present by bringing forward viewpoints that help listeners understand not just Black history, but the larger story of Black life and identity, he said.
“I am striving to bring meaningful conversations to people,” White said as the podcast relaunches across major platforms. Episodes are now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio and Pandora and will continue releasing episodes throughout the academic year.
