University Park, Pa. — Penn State School of Music Director Ann Marie Stanley has been selected as a featured clinician for the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic/Convention. This prestigious event will be held Feb. 12–15 at the Henry B. González Convention Center and the adjacent Grand Hyatt in San Antonio, Texas.
As one of the largest music education conventions in the world, TMEA annually draws between 28,000 and 30,000 attendees, including music educators, administrators, and collegiate students. With over 300 sessions spanning four days, the convention offers professional development and showcases outstanding music programs from across the country. Each year, a select group of national experts is chosen to serve as featured clinicians, presenting sessions that inspire and equip music educators at all stages of their careers.
For the 2025 convention, Stanley will present four one-hour workshops as part of the "Collegiate Strand." Her sessions will focus on positive, empowering strategies designed to help music education majors and early-career teachers build confidence, develop their skills, and create vibrant and joyful learning environments. Her four presentations will include "A Peaceful, Collaborative Classroom? You Have What it Takes," "Engage Your Core: Strong Solutions to Sticky Situations," "Choose Your Own Adventure in Music Teaching and Learning," and the innovative session "Class of 2025, Meet the Class of 2035," which will challenge current collegiate students to envision a School of Music tailored to the needs of their future students.
Typically, featured clinician sessions attract audiences of 300 to 400 attendees, reflecting the widespread interest in these high-impact presentations. For more information about TMEA 2025, visit tmea.org/convention/clinics.
