It's happened to every Penn Stater: "We Are...!"
Maybe you heard the prompt from someone who spotted your blue-and-white logo hat while you were vacationing in Uruguay or Nepal. Perhaps you said it when you noticed a Nittany Lion lapel pin worn by a new client at a business meeting in Lagos, Mumbai or Madrid.
Wherever in the world you made an unexpected Penn State connection, the Penn Stater magazine wants to hear about it! Submit your small-world stories of meeting fellow Nittany Lions far from Happy Valley to pennstater@psu.edu by Friday, Oct. 31. The magazine will include as many as possible in an upcoming issue, and no more than 250 words, please.
Membership in the Penn State Alumni Association includes a subscription to the award-winning Penn Stater, which brings you captivating stories about Penn State and Penn Staters — with world-class writing, beautiful design, and a long tradition of objective reporting on all topics. Published six times a year, and available only as a benefit of membership in the Alumni Association, the Penn Stater keeps you tuned in to the latest University events, research and personalities; association activities; and each other. Membership also includes full access to the magazine online at pennstatermag.com.
In 2023, the magazine's website added audio for all stories, so whether you prefer listening to reading, or you want to take the Penn Stater on your morning run or evening commute, we have you covered. Audio makes the magazine’s content available to a wider audience and furthers our goal to deliver a more personalized experience to our members.
The Penn Stater also welcomes news of weddings, births, career updates, and other significant milestones for use in the "Class Notes" section at pennstater@psu.edu. Letters to the Editor also can be submitted by emailing heypennstater@psu.edu.
To access the magazine online, visit pennstatermag.com and log in with your email address and Alumni Association ID number. You can find your ID number in the footer of emails you receive from the association.
The Penn Stater magazine is available exclusively as a benefit of your membership in the Penn State Alumni Association.
