Seven elected to Alumni Council

Seven alumni leaders have been voted onto Alumni Council—the Alumni Association’s governing board—and will begin their terms July 1.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Seven alumni leaders have been voted onto Alumni Council—the Alumni Association’s governing board—and will begin their terms July 1.

New members elected to serve on Alumni Council, along with their vote totals, are:

  • Darlene Dunay, class of 1979, Sci: 3,074
  • Michael Martocci, class of 1988, Bus: 3,041
  • Jay Weitzel, class of 1974, Lib: 2,877
  • Johanna Ramos, class of 1992, '99g, Eng: 2,828
  • Brian Sielski, class of 1988, Eng: 2,648
  • Patrick M. Cook, class of 1991, Eng: 2,438
  • Tom Maziarz, class of 1993, Eng: 2,367

7,318 voted out of 142,173 eligible voters (5.15%). Election results were certified by YesElections.

Each of these alumni will serve a three-year term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028. In addition, seven appointed members will be named later this month and will serve the same term. Alumni Council is an all-volunteer governing body that advises and guides the Penn State Alumni Association on programs and initiatives to uphold its mission of service and support to Penn State. Alumni members of the Alumni Association are eligible to vote in the annual election, which takes place online.
