UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To celebrate Penn State men's basketball's return to Philadelphia, the Penn State Alumni Association is partnering with its Philadelphia Chapter to host a special Roar Tour pregame meet-up for all Nittany Lion fans. The gathering will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, at The Post at Cira Garage. Penn State will then battle Illinois at 7 p.m. at The Palestra, a short walk from the pregame event.
Open to fans of all ages, the pregame event offers Penn Staters a chance to connect with fellow alumni and supporters before heading to the arena. Light snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, and attendees are encouraged to wear white as part of a White Out to cheer on the team.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Because The Post has limited capacity, early arrival is recommended to secure entry; registration does not guarantee a spot once the venue is full. The event coincides with a long tradition of Penn State basketball at The Palestra, known as the “Cathedral of College Basketball,” where the Nittany Lions have played 63 times since 1927.
Watch for news about additional Roar Tour stops hosted by the Penn State Alumni Association this winter sports season.
