UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Proposals will be accepted between Jan. 27 and Feb. 14 for Penn State alumni to submit proposals for spring 2025 LionLink Projects, which match students and recent graduates with experiential learning opportunities. Through this program, now in its third year, alumni gain support for their business, organization or chapter, while recent graduates and students acquire real-world experience. Most importantly, participating Penn Staters form mutually beneficial professional connections by working together.

"This is a great program that is mutually beneficial for students and employers," said an alumna who sponsored two recent LionLink Projects. "The students who worked with us were eager to learn, followed through with their responsibilities, and did a nice job with their projects."

Projects can be paid or unpaid. The maximum payment for a project is $600.

Your project proposal is likely to be suitable for LionLink Projects if:

  • The project can be completed in a virtual environment.

  • It is résumé-worthy.

  • The project will give students or recent graduate an opportunity to demonstrate their skills to a prospective employer.
  • It can be completed with 10 to 40 hours of work, in a span of 2 to 6 weeks.
  • It meets Fair Labor Standards.

Suitable projects may include:

  • Creating a social media campaign.
  • Analyzing data.
  • Supporting a fundraising event.
  • Conducting research.
  • Researching and writing grants.
  • Performing SEO analysis.
  • Drafting or forecasting budgets.
