UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State history takes a spooky turn this fall as the Penn State Alumni Association and its student alumni organization, Lion Ambassadors, invite the community to explore campus legends and lore at the annual “Haunted Valley” event on Friday, Oct. 16, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Hintz Family Alumni Center and University House. The event is free and open to the public.

University House, attached to the Hintz Family Alumni Center, is one of the oldest standing structures on the University Park campus and was home to 11 Penn State presidents. Visitors can explore the building, with twists and turns in every direction. Lion Ambassadors will also lead lantern tours around campus, beginning at the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

RSVP for the event here. The final “Haunted Valley” lantern tour will depart at 9:40 p.m., and RSVPing does not guarantee a tour time.

“Haunted Valley is a fun way for the Penn State community to come together and see campus from a different perspective,” said Shree Saravan, Lion Ambassadors executive vice president. “Whether you’re exploring the spooky side of Penn State’s history, enjoying fall activities with friends and family, or taking part in the evening’s entertainment, there’s plenty to make the night memorable.”

Founded in 1981, Lion Ambassadors is the student alumni corps of the Penn State Alumni Association. Their mission is to communicate the University’s history, personality, and traditions to students, alumni, and friends through tours and programming.
