UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Alumni Career Services is launching the Job Search Accelerator, a free four-week webinar series designed to help alumni gain momentum in their job search, starting June 3. The series will deliver tools, strategies and connections to help alumni move forward with confidence, whether they’re stepping into the workforce for the first time, navigating a layoff, or making a career pivot.
Job Search Accelerator webinars will be held each Wednesday in June from 7-8 p.m. Each session stands on its own, so participants can glean practical insights whether they attend one or all four. Registration for the webinars is open now.
“We wanted to provide support, actionable strategies, and practical career guidance to Penn Staters navigating this increasingly competitive job market,” said Holly Stoltzfus, interim director of Alumni Career Services. “This series can help alumni accelerate their search and tap into the strength of Penn State’s alumni network.”
The series includes the following webinars:
Session One: Your Job Search Strategy: Aligning Goals with Opportunity
Wednesday, June 3, 7-8 p.m.
In this opening session, alumni will learn how to identify their goals, values, priorities and transferable skills, and use them to drive a more targeted search. The session explores how employers actually hire, how to tap into the hidden job market through relationships and networking, and how to organize a search for maximum impact. Participants will leave with a practical framework that brings clarity, structure and momentum to their job search.
Session Two: Navigating Career Transitions: Four Practical Steps to Manage Change
Wednesday, June 10, 7-8 p.m.
The career transitions session offers attendees a clear, supportive framework for moving forward, no matter where they are in their career journey. Participants will explore four practical steps for navigating transitions: taking stock of the current situation, reflecting on what matters most right now, identifying sources of support, and choosing strategies that can help job seekers regain momentum, even when the path forward isn’t clear.
Session Three: Build Career Confidence: Using AI, Experience, and Strategy to Launch Your Career as a Recent Graduate & Entry-Level Professional
Wednesday, June 17, 7-8 p.m.
Designed for recent graduates and entry-level professionals, this session equips alumni with modern tools and strategies to stand out in a competitive job market. Attendees will learn how to use AI tools effectively to support their job search and how to translate student experiences into relevant, employer-focused skills. The session also covers how to build stronger résumés and application materials, improve visibility and confidence during the hiring process, and apply practical job-search strategies to create momentum and open doors.
Session Four: The Penn State Network: Meet, Connect, Follow Up
