About the chancellor
Darbeau became chancellor and dean of Penn State Altoona in January 2023. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, he previously served in academic leadership roles at Commonwealth University, Lock Haven University and the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of the West Indies and master's and doctoral degrees in organic chemistry from Johns Hopkins University.
