LATROBE, Pa. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Lexi Colaianni, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in women’s tennis on Monday, Sept. 1.
Colaianni had a dominant performance in both singles and doubles for the Lions on opening weekend, helping Penn State Altoona go 2-0 in road matches against AMCC opponent Carlow University and non-conference foe Waynesburg University.
In Saturday's victory at Carlow, Colaianni blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles while posting a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. She continued her success Sunday at Waynesburg, winning 6-2, 6-4 in No. 3 singles and 6-0 in No. 3 doubles.
Penn State Altoona women’s tennis returns to action Sept. 7 with its home opener, hosting non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College for a 1 p.m. match at the Penn State Altoona tennis courts.
