LATROBE, Pa. — For the third time this season, Penn State Altoona softball’s right-hander Josselyn Nau, of Bellefonte, was selected the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Pitcher of the Week, as the league office announced its weekly awards on March 30.

In her two starts last week against nonconference opponent McDaniel College and AMCC foe Hilbert College, Nau went 1-1 with two complete games.

In Penn State Altoona’s close 7-5 loss to McDaniel College last Wednesday, Nau pitched all seven innings and surrendered just 11 hits, four earned runs and no walks, while striking out one batter. She followed that up by going all five innings in the Lions’ 9-0 win over Hilbert College on Sunday, yielding two hits with no earned runs and no walks. She also struck out two batters.

On the week, Nau totaled 12 innings, struck out three batters and compiled a 2.55 earned run average. In the conference, she currently ranks third in earned run average (3.19), first in wins (five), and second in strikeouts (31).

Penn State Altoona softball is 12-10 overall this season, including a 2-0 conference record. The Lions are scheduled to return to action on March 31 when the team hosts a doubleheader against AMCC opponent Pitt Greensburg, starting at 3 p.m.
