Penn State Altoona’s Caleb Fries, Adam Chan voted to All-AMCC volleyball team

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona men’s volleyball landed a pair of players on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s all-conference team, which was announced on April 25.

Opposite hitter Caleb Fries, of Altoona, was voted the AMCC’s Newcomer of the Year and was also a first-team all-conference selection, while libero Adam Chan, of Framingham, Massachusetts, was a second-team all-conference pick.

Fries had a standout first season of collegiate volleyball for the Lions, playing in all 27 of his team’s matches and appearing in 99 of 100 sets.He led the AMCC in kills (333), service aces (52), aces per set (0.53), and points (418.5) while also ranking second in kills per set (3.36) and points per set (4.2), fifth in block assists (49), seventh in digs (180), eighth in total blocks (58), 10th in digs per set (1.82), 11th in blocks per set (0.59), and 12th in hitting percentage (.175) and solo blocks (9). During the season, Fries was selected as the AMCC’s Offensive Player of the Week three times.

Chan held the Lions’ starting libero position throughout his first season and played in all 27 matches and 100 sets for Penn State Altoona. He ranked second in the conference in total digs (219) and fifth in digs per set (2.19). Chan took one AMCC Defensive Player of the Week award during the season.

Penn State Altoona men’s volleyball finished the 2025 season with a 14-13 overall record, including a 4-2 mark within the AMCC that placed the Lions second in the league’s regular season standings.
