Penn State Altoona softball student-athletes earn AMCC weekly awards

LATROBE, Pa. — Penn State Altoona softball swept the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's weekly awards, as the league office announced on March 2 that shortstop Karli Storm, of Chest Springs, was its Player of the Week and right-handed pitcher Josselyn Nau, of Bellefonte, was its Pitcher of the Week.
Storm and Nau helped the Lions through a 1-1 week of nonconference play with a doubleheader split against Waynesburg on Feb. 25.
In the 6-3 game one victory against Waynesburg, Storm had one walk, one hit and one run. In the game two loss, Storm was 2-for-2 with a home run, a walk and a run. Throughout the week, Storm went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs scored, two walks and one RBI.
Nau started game one of the doubleheader and pitched a complete game. She allowed just one earned run and one walk while tallying seven strikeouts to secure the win.
Penn State Altoona softball is 1-1 overall this season. The Lions will begin their week in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic on March 7, with games against Columbia College and the University of Pikeville at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex in Little River, South Carolina.
