ALTOONA, Pa. — Brian Black, distinguished professor of history and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona, was recently an invited lecturer at Whitman College in Walawala, Washington. He presented the keynote “Corridors of Consumption: How Highways and Infrastructure Defined the High-Energy Era in America."
As part of his visit, he also spoke to an English class at the college and held a book signing and lecture at the Walawala Public Library about his book “Ike’s Road Trip: How Eisenhower’s 1919 Convoy Paved the Way for the Roads We Travel.”
