ALTOONA, Pa. — Jeff Stoyanoff, assistant professor of English and women's gender and sexuality studies at Penn State Altoona, has been accepted to attend a Folger Institute Scholarly Program symposium at the Folger Shakespeare Library in late October.

“Performance Methodologies and Premodern Studies” will explore foundational and innovative research approaches in theatre and performance studies. Sessions will address recent shifts in performance methods — modes for gathering information — and methodologies, which are modes for analyzing information.

The application process aims to ensure that those selected and funded to attend will be strong contributors to the conversation. Stoyanoff's research interest focus on queer and genders studies specifically in relation to medieval drama perspectives and representation. He will have the opportunity to engage workshop leaders and participants about performance in hybrid and virtual spaces.
