ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona faculty members Brian Onishi, associate professor of philosophy, and Jeff Stoyanoff, assistant professor of English and of women's, gender and sexuality studies, have released a new episode of their "Horror Joy" podcast. In the latest episode, the hosts are joined by award-winning author Keith Rosson to talk about his most recent book, “Coffin Moon.”

The episode explores Vietnam's role in the novel, how the nature of the vampire changes the story's requirements, and how it serves as a model for bad parenting. Rosson also talks through his understanding of genre, including his own reading habits and how he came to write horror. He offers his take on the role of joy in horror and recommends reading Gordon B. White's short fiction.
