Penn State Altoona to exhibit artwork by visual art studies student Noah Schenk

NOTE: The exhibit by Noah Schenk will be rescheduled for the spring 2026 semester.

ALTOONA, Pa. — “Greetings From Mapledew,” a body of work by visual art studies student Noah Schenk will be on display Dec. 4 through 14 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. A reception will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. The reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public.

Schenk is a visual artist who works in a multitude of mediums, including digital and traditional media. With a passion for conceptual art and design, their work often features visual representations of ideas through sketches and drawings. They intend to receive a bachelor's degree in visual art studies from Penn State Altoona in Dec. 2025.

Schenk utilizes their ability to craft stories and create characters in “Greetings From Mapledew,” a mystery-thriller video game. The game puts the player in the shoes of a rookie state park ranger in a secluded Rust Belt town. Its message delves into the meaning of change, the power of nature, and the importance of keeping those you know close.

The galleries are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For further information, call the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at 814-949-5452.
