LATROBE, Pa. — Penn State Altoona men’s basketball had a pair of players voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference team, as the league office announced its postseason awards in the sport on March 3.
Guard Kaden Claar, of Portage, was a second-team All-AMCC selection, while guard Rasheed Daniels, of Richmond, Virginia, was voted to the third team.
Claar started all 26 games during his final campaign with the Lions. He led the AMCC in free throw percentage (86.9) while also ranking second in steals (65) and steals per game (2.5), seventh in three-pointers made (51), eighth in free throws made (73), ninth in total rebounds (151), 10th in defensive rebounds (111), rebounds per game (5.8), points (396), and points per game (15.2), 11th in offensive rebounds (40), 12th in assists (59) and blocks (11), 13th in field goals made (136) and points per 40 minutes (20.4), 14th in assists per game (2.3), and 19th in three-point percentage (33.6). Claar also earned one AMCC Player of the Week award during the season.
Daniels played in 19 games for Penn State Altoona during his first season with the team, and made 11 starts. Among all players in the AMCC, he was third in points per 40 minutes (24.1), 13th in points per game (14.8), 14th in free throws made (63), 18th in blocks (9), 20th in free throw percentage (64.3), 22nd in points (282), 24th in three-pointers made (27) and three-point percentage (30.0), 27th in field goals made (96), and 28th in field goal percentage (44.0).
Penn State Altoona men’s basketball finished the regular season in fifth place in the AMCC standings. The Lions earned a berth to the conference tournament, where they suffered a loss to fourth-seed Hilbert College in the first round.
