Altoona student-athlete Kayla Crowe named AMCC Women’s Runner of the Week

LATROBE, Pa. — The Penn State Altoona cross country program picked up its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference player of the week award this season, as Kayla Crowe, of Rockland County, New York, was named the league’s Women’s Runner of the Week on Sept. 29.

Crowe was the Lions’ top finisher in Saturday’s 6K race, when Penn State Altoona cross country competed in Dickinson College’s Long-Short Invitational at Big Spring High School. She clocked in with a time of 29:03.4 to place 102nd out of 138 individual runners in the 6K.

The Penn State Altoona men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action on Oct. 11 in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, starting at 10:45 a.m. in Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park.
