UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Altoona alumnus Asher Carr recently participated in Penn State’s annual Startup Week, held March 23 through 27. Carr delivered his presentation, “The Execution Gap: Why Great Strategies Fail and How to Fix It,” at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub at the University Park campus.

During his presentation, Carr shared why most start-ups fail because they don't have a proper execution plan and how the Entrepreneurial Operating System model can help increase their growth. He also shared how this model has shaped his company, including launching a large client of 8,000 members on the company's mental fitness platform.

In addition, Carr hosted an in-person office hour session during which he offered advice and expertise to individuals and small teams of students interested in entrepreneurship. He also participated in the private Founder's Dinner, connecting with students and other CEOs to talk transparently about the journey of entrepreneurship and to help them on theirs.

Carr graduated in 2016 with a degree in business with a focus on entrepreneurship. He currently serves as the operations manager for Forte Mental Fitness in Maryland.
