Nursing Advising Session: 'What You Need to Know About Nursing'

Penn State Altoona will offer several information and advising sessions throughout the fall 2026 semester for any nursing pre-major, first-year nursing major, or change-of-major nursing student.
Sessions will be held in room 117 of the Science Building from 12:05 to 1:05 p.m. No sign-up is required, and there will be time for questions at the end of each session.
- “What You Need to Know About Nursing” — Tuesday, Sept. 1, or Thursday, Sept 3. Nursing advisers will give a general overview of the additional policies, requirements, and costs of nursing.
- “Strategies for Success: Study Skills and Time Management” — Tuesday, Sept. 15, or Thursday, Sept. 17. Nursing advisers will offer ideas on how to maximize learning power and minimize stress levels during content-heavy courses.
- “Spring Semester Planning” — Tuesday, Sept. 29, or Thursday, Oct. 1. Nursing advisers will help make sure you are taking the correct courses and making progress in the nursing program.
- “Mid-semester Check-in: How to Improve or Maintain Your Progress” — Tuesday, Oct. 13, or Thursday, Oct. 15. Nursing advisers will help you learn how to improve or maintain your academic progress throughout the remainder of the fall semester.
