UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An upcoming Penn State Extension workshop will explore the impact of different weed management strategies during a guided tour of a corn herbicide demonstration plot at Brown Hill Farms in Tunkhannock.
The “Twilight Pest Management Plot Tour” will occur from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 28 at Brown Hill Farms, located at 405 W. Avery Station Road in Tunkhannock.
Participants will compare the performance of multiple herbicide treatments while gaining practical insights into effective weed control programs for corn production.
Extension educators and specialists also will share recommendations on mid-season corn management, pesticide safety, and application practices to improve herbicide efficacy and support crop success throughout the growing season.
Organizers note that space is limited, so preregistration by July 27 is required. Registration carries a fee of $10.
In the event of rain, the event will be held July 30. Registrants will be contacted the morning of the program if the event is postponed.
Continuing education credits are available for Pennsylvania pesticide applicators, pending approval by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
