UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Anyone interested in losing or maintaining weight while eating satisfying, nutritious foods can learn about a science-based way to accomplish those goals by attending a six-part Penn State Extension series, “The Volumetrics Weigh of Life: Weight Management Plan.”

The webinars will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on six consecutive Wednesdays from May 6 to June 10.

Based on the research of Barbara Rolls, professor of biobehavioral health at Penn State, this program is designed for anyone interested in losing or maintaining weight by making healthier yet satisfying food choices through an understanding of calorie density and sustainable eating habits.

Instructors will discuss fundamental weight management principles, with each session providing calorie density lessons, food demonstrations, examples of Volumetrics food choices and interactive learning opportunities through group discussions.

Among other topics, participants will learn to:

— Think positively about what they can eat.

— Use science-based, sound nutritional advice to achieve and maintain weight management goals.

— Choose foods to manage hunger and increase satiety.

— Modify recipes to incorporate the Volumetrics principles in their kitchen.
