UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Extension offers educational resources and opportunities for those interested in mental health resources and wellness, including workshops and webinars.
Resources offered on mental health and wellness include:

“QPR Suicide Prevention Training for Farming Communities.” In this webinar, participants can build lifesaving skills to support farmers and agricultural communities. Individuals can learn to recognize suicide warning signs, start caring conversations and connect someone to help by following three steps: question, persuade and refer.

“QPR Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention Training.” Participants can attend this webinar to learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide and how the steps of question, persuade and refer can save the life of a friend, coworker, family member or neighbor.

“Mental Health First Aid.” During this webinar, participants will hear from Penn State Extension educators as they teach the National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Mental Health First Aid course, helping to increase comfort levels in offering initial support to an adult experiencing a mental health challenge and connect them with resources.

“Smart Choice | Smart Use Health Insurance: Mental Health.” In this webinar, participants will learn to navigate mental healthcare coverage, manage costs and make informed decisions to support their well-being and that of their loved ones.

“Mental Health First Aid for Adults Working with Youth.” Participants of this webinar will learn to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among youth ages 12-18 in this blended virtual course.

“Mental Wellness Series.” The Mental Wellness webinar series includes webinars focused on topics such as flourishing practices, helping others in distress and emotional overload.
