Penn State Extension to offer financial education webinars Fridays in October

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Extension will offer a five-part webinar series this fall to help participants build essential money management skills.

The “Financial Foundations” program will run from noon to 1 p.m. Fridays from Oct. 3 through Oct. 31. The sessions will feature hands-on activities and discussions led by trained extension educators.

Topics will include the relationships between personal values, money beliefs and financial behaviors; budgeting to achieve financial goals; understanding credit health; managing debt responsibly; and saving and investing for financial security.

Participants can learn how to:

— Create financial goals and budgets.

— Assess credit health and prioritize liabilities.

— Save and invest for the future.

— Utilize financial tools to build healthy financial habits.

The series is open to the public and may be of particular interest to families, farmers, small business owners and others seeking to improve their financial knowledge and confidence.

Those who complete the series will receive a complimentary Penn State Financial Foundations microcredential badge, which they can share with their professional community. The program materials were developed by Penn State’s Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center and used with permission.
